The history of pipe organs in Bergamo from century XIV to century XX is to
be written. Specific essays lack. Nobody is to be accused for that, because of
the specificity and the difficulty of the matter. Only during the last decades
some interest is being noticed with the pubblication of simple news about
organ and organ builders; very few news, but enought to give important insides
on this aspect of the Art History, undoubtely charming, but yet to much
hidden.
This essay wants to give an initial and essential assestment to the problem of
the organ history in Bergamo: the matter deserves the attention of the
historical researchers and the further development of the specialist.
The field of examination is focused to the area of Bergamo, mainly related
to ecclesiastic giurisdition.
